New TV show worth watching
This week, we tuned in to The Assembly to see a brilliant group of neurodivergent and autistic interviewers sit down with a well known guest. Their first interviewee was Taoiseach Micheál Martin, and the group didn't hold back, asking the tough, important questions about housing and the real life supports needed for people with different abilities.
One moment that touched everyone was meeting Max. For a long time people misunderstood Max's potential because he is non-verbal. He did a beautiful job sharing how that misdiagnosis impacted his life. There wasn't a dry eye in the room when two other young men performed a song Max wrote himself called "Always Been in Here." It’s a stunning song with a powerful message.
We really hope this show gives everyone a better look into the daily lives, dreams, and challenges of the neurodivergent community here in Ireland. We have so much to look forward to with future guests like Ryan Tubridy, Joanne McNally, and Rosie O’Donnell on the way!
At See My Skills, we are happy to see neurodivergence represented in such a positive, authentic way on our screens.
Tune in: Catch The Assembly on Mondays at 9pm on Virgin Media One or stream it anytime on Virgin Media PLAY.
