Volunteer Role: Mock Interviewer – Accelerator Programme

Location: Off-campus venue, Cork/Munster Region

Time Commitment: One day, approx 10:00am–2:30pm

Date: Specific dates provided in advance.

Role Overview:

As a Mock Interviewer, you will play a vital role in preparing secondary school students with diversities or physical disabilities for the world of work. By conducting mock interviews you’ll help students build confidence, gain interview experience, and receive constructive feedback to support their personal and professional growth.

Key Responsibilities:

· Conduct mock interviews with 6–8 students (20-minute interviews + 5-minute feedback)

· Provide clear, supportive, and actionable feedback after each interview

· Work collaboratively as part of a two-person interview team

· Follow the provided interview guide and schedule

· Encourage students to build on the experience to pursue future job opportunities

Requirements:

· Strong communication and interpersonal skills

· Ability to provide positive, clear, and constructive feedback

· Patience and empathy

· Professional experience in hiring, HR, or people management is beneficial but not required

· Commitment to inclusion and supporting young people with disabilities
