Volunteer Role: Empowered Programme Facilitator

Programme: Empowered – One-to-One Support for Adults with Disabilities

Time Commitment: 2 hours per week (for 6 weeks)

Location: Remote or in-person (depending on participant preference)

Role Overview: The Empowered Programme Facilitator provides personalised, one-to-one support to an adult with a disability over the course of six weeks. Through weekly sessions, the mentor helps participants identify their strengths, develop job-seeking skills, build confidence, and prepare for meaningful employment.

This role is ideal for professionals who are passionate about inclusion, mentoring, and helping others realise their potential in the workplace.

Key Responsibilities:

· Deliver weekly 2-hour mentoring sessions for six weeks using See My Skills' structured Empowered framework.

· Support the participant in key areas including:

  • Confidence-building and career exploration

  • CV and cover letter development

  • Job searching and application writing

  • Mock interviews and communication skills

  • Understanding workplace rights and accommodations

· Tailor support to the participant’s individual needs, learning style, and employment goals.

· Use See My Skills resources, templates, and session guides to structure conversations and provide clear, practical advice.

· Offer encouragement and guidance while helping the participant take realistic steps toward employment.

2. CV Writing & Personal Goal Setting

3. Job Search Strategies & Application Practice

4. Online Presence & Networking

5. Mock Interview Practice

6. Workplace Readiness & Support Awareness

Ideal Candidate Profile:

  • ·Strong interpersonal, listening, and communication skills

  • Ability to build rapport and adapt to individual needs

  • A background in recruitment, HR, education, coaching, SNA or similar is an advantage but not required

  • A strong belief in inclusion and equal access to employment for people with disabilities

  • Commitment to completing the full six-week programme with your matched participant

  • Strong IT Skills

  • Access to own transport is desirable but not essential
